Mellow hot day at the shop.  Doing a generator wheelbuild and a complete build on a Tesch.  Dog is sleeping on my lap.  I saw these videos over the weekend and thought they were pretty rad.   See anything you recognize in the Leader video?

thanks prolly

Blackwell’s Got a Brand New Bike!!!

It’s done!  Blackwell has finished his new Sycip road fixed gear.  Built up similar to your “standard” track bike but with some nice twists that class it up a bit.  Damn nice build Blackwell.

Full shot Sycip Road fixed Gear full shot

I’m gonna let Blackwell tell you how and why he built his new bike the way he did:

PARTS:

  • Phil Wood Track Hubs
  • Mavic MA3 Black Rims
  • Phil Wood Bottom Bracket
  • Sugino 75 Track Cranks
  • Sugino Zen Chainring 47t
  • EAI Cog 18t
  • Dura-Ace Lockring
  • Thomson 27.2 Seatpost
  • Thomson 31.8 Road Stem
  • Chris King Headset
  • Selle San Marco Concor Light Saddle
  • Tektro Aero Brake Levers
  • 3T Ergo Bars

I wanted a bike that could take on different kinds of builds to satisfy my fickle bike taste. The homies at Sycip were more than willing to set me up with the new whip. It has the lines of a basic Sycip track frame but has the clearance for 28c tires, cable stops, and Jeremy brazed fender eylets as well.  Its current build up is set for nerdy training kinda stuff and doubles as a overdone everyday rider. I plan on getting some honjo fenders for some rainey day shreddin! I’m super stoked to finally own a bike from these guys, they totally rule! Word on the street is that they will be moving to Berkeley… back to the bay! If your thinking about going custom, Jay and Jeremy get a thumbs up. NORCAL!!!!!!!!
