Its Gabe in a bag! San-Francisco-Used-BikesIts been a pretty awesome holiday season. Lots of activities, both in and out of the shop, both in and out of the bike world. I came across a couple of photos from very early in Box Dog history that I thought were pretty amusing, and we received some new handmade goods (!).

Back in the day when we first opened an account with R.E.Load we ordered the largest backpack we could. I think the reasoning was – why not!?! So then we put Gabe Peterson in the bag and rode around. Seemed like a good idea at the time: December 8th, 2005!
Rainy-Peak-Cycling-Caps-At-Box-Dog-Bikes, track-bikes-san-francisco

Its difficult to convey how energetic and optimistic we were at the time. I think to a large extent we are still really stoked on what we are doing, but I have to admit, Im also a bit more jaded. I hope that in the coming months we can remember to party and have as much fun doing what we are doing now (which is way more together) and have as much fun as we did then.

Rainy-Peak-Cycling-Caps-At-Box-Dog-Bikes, track-bikes-san-franciscoNew products have arrived in the mail!

New hats from Randi Jo Smith at Rainy Peak cyclery. For those of you who dont know these hats rule. They are made from basic cotton, come in a variety of crazy patterns, and are made by hand in Cottage Grove, Oregon. The hats we receive are totally random in regards to the patterns and colors, which is cool because the SWRVE-Caps-At-Box-Dog-Bikes, track-bikes-san-franciscoinventory is constantly changing. Here is a picture of my favorite one: its blue corduroy with fancy pink dots. Pretty & Pimp.

SWRVE hats are in too. I like them because they are very soft, the wool they are constructed with is from old suits and stuff like that so the patterns are subtle, and the brims are a bit larger than those on some of the other brands .

And of course we have more CHUEY BRAND caps in. This dude is basically indefatigable – his styles are so on point its dangerous. This go round we actually purchased some winter caps with the wool drop down flap in the back for your ears. Not really needed most of the year, but if you are out riding now and dont want to look like you have a spandex condom on your head, well then Chuey winter cap it is!

Gabe Ehlerts spirit animal? Here is a detail of his bird logo. OG Chuey!

Fabric-Horse-At-Box-Dog-Bikes, Track-Bike-San-FranciscoLastly we have more goods from Fabric Horse. Sadly we have already sold out of the lock-holsters, but we should have some more in by January. If you haven’t already I highly suggest subscribing to her blog. Fabric Horse is relatively new as a business and I think with the growth of the track bike and urban bike worlds she’s about to blow up. It will be cool to see what kind of new products and ideas are

Fabric-Horse-At-Box-Dog-Bikes, Track-Bike-San-Franciscogenerated from her success!

I think my plan is to always have two of her utility belts in stock and a handful of her lock-holsters because I think both products rule and are very useful. If anyone has any interest in her spats let me know and I’ll see what we can do!
