I want to say thanks to people for giving me feedback and in general being excited about the Pelican Framesets.  A number of questions keep popping up and I would like to answer them here.

-The color will be the blue of the prototypes.

-Only the 48cm frame has a sloping top tube

-The frames are measured center to center

-The “long” top tubes are there to allow one to use upright or portuer bars without a massively long stem.  Also, to allow one to use a 9-11 stem with drops and a handlebar bag without putting the bag too far forward.  The top tubes seem long, but honestly they are not different than Riv’s, or any of the other frames out there.  They are designed in the “french” way I suppose, longer seat tubes, less seat post showing.  Even with the smaller frames that have 650b wheels, it is tricky to design a frame with the handling characteristics that we wanted.  This goes for the seat tube angles as well as the top tubes on the smaller frames.   A slacker seat tube angle means a slacker headtube angle or an even longer top tube, thus worse front end handling and frame fit.

Per worries about toe overlap, with the forks offset of 60mm and 58mm, it is not going to be an issue.

HERE is the link to the spec sheet

Thanks,

Gabe E
