First of all, we are now stocking Surly Cross Checks. We have a few in stock right now, and you can expect to see their ranks swell over the next couple of months. If you are looking to get a late start to this years cx season or are just looking to ride some nice fireroads, check out the Cross Check.
Secondly, Surly bikes has finally decided to get off their middle-finger-to-the-bike-industry-high-horse-or-whatever and have accomplished two wonderful things. For 2010 Surly is introducing the Surly Pacer complete and a brand new actually legible website! No more having to guess which outline represents the bike you are looking for! YES!
The new Surly Pacer comes stock with a Tiagra mix build. Tiagra shifters, deraillers, and hubs and 12-25 cassette are supported by a FSA 50/34 compact double, a SRAM PC-971 chain, Alex rims and Tektro brake calipers. For $1,175 I have to say I’m really excited for this bike. The Pacer is an awesome do it all road bike. It will take full fenders, ride comfortably with a rack, and can transition gracefully from road to townie and back again. It looks good with this build, and the components are a really good value for the pricepoint. I dont expect the complete Pacers for a couple of months, but if you are looking for a versatile, affordable and classic steel rode bike – this Bud’s for you.
